The turtle

Introduction to the turtle

Following this year's theme of "toys," the super turtle is entertaining, interactive, and covered in green felt.
It incorporates aspects of the "whack a mole" carnival game, the remote control tank, and the interactive stuffed animal. Functionally, its systems divide similarly. The "whack a mole" light game is the primary control system, determining all of the physical behavior of the turtle based on the player's success. The turtle's locomotion, provided by tank tracks, is controled by sensor activation by the player. After the player progresses in the game, a transmission system is activated that draws the turtle's head and tail into its shell, where it hides and then comes back out.

The turtle's physical structure was designed using solid works.

Renderings from solid works, technical drawings, and cute pictures of the turtle are here .

Models of the head and tail transmission system are included in the section of the site relating to the head and tail.
