Q. What is a beer mile?
A. A combination of running and drinking skill. The men's race is 1 can of beer, 1 lap, 1 beer, 1 lap, 1 beer, 1 lap, 1 beer, 1 lap. So, four beers and four laps of the 400m track. The women's race is 1 lap, 1 beer, 1 lap, 1 beer, 1 lap, 1 beer, 1 lap. So three beers, four laps. Of course, women are more than welcome to enter the men's category.
Q. What can I drink?
A. Officially, only non-light beer in CANS is allowed. Also, if you have an aversion for alcohol period, four 500ml cartons of chocolate milk will pass.
Q. What if I hurl?
A. Any amount of hurling between the starting gun and the finish line is penalized with one extra lap of the track to be run after you complete your fourth lap. Hurling is denoted in the results with a (*).
