Graduate Research Assistant- Vehicle Dynamics Lab, U.C. Berkeley, (Aug ‘03- Present): Cold-start emissions control in an SI engine (Aug. 03- Present)
DARPA Grand Challenges Berkeley Team (2005 and 2007): The grand challenge competitions required a completely autonomous vehicle! The 2007 Urban challenge was tougher since it involved designing complex controllers so that the vehicle follows by itself all the urban traffic rules. I designed high-level path planner and low level controllers (steering, throttle, brake) as part of the Berkeley Sydney Driving team. Biped robot prosthetic knee design and control (U.C. Berkeley, Fall 2004): Worked on the design of a humanoid thigh that connects to a prosthetic knee. Designed a controller to control the gait of the biped robot. Integrated all the sensors and implemented the controller in real time using C. Advisor: Prof. H. Kazerooni, U.C. Berkeley Design of a Microhardness testing machine (summer research, Indian Institute of Science, 2001): Designed a new mechanism for micro indentation on the specimen surface using ANSYS and ProE. Analyzed and resurrected an existing old out-of-order hardness machine. Advisor: Prof. Satish V Kailas, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore Digital circuit design
(U.C. Berkeley, Fall 2005): Advisor:
Prof.
Randy Katz, Computer Science Dept, U.C. Berkeley Robot arm motion tracking
(U.C. Berkeley, Fall 2003): Advisor: Prof. David Auslander, U.C.Berkeley System and Network Administrator- Vehicle Dynamics Lab, U.C. Berkeley (Aug ‘03- Present) Active Suspensions for
Tracked Vehicles (Undergraduate project, IIT-Madras, 2003): This robot was designed and manufactured as part of the
Robotics workshop that I had organized in Shaastra, the technical symposium
of IIT-Madras, the biggest of its kind in South India. More details to
